Am I the only one mildly surprised by the push press not showing better returns in vertical jump? I’m almost wondering if the technical aspects of it compared to the squat jump has anything to do with it. Speaking of which, there’s a lot of slightly different variations of the jump squat.
I admit that I have limited experience with the jump squat, but I’ve gotten great results in vertical jump height without even trying.
I wonder if the heavy loads on the push-press turned it into a more of a max strength exercise as opposed to a velocity based one.
